Solid Mahogany Armchair, Directoire Period – Early 19th Century

Large directoire armchair in solid mahogany with a convex belt on the front bringing together two sheathed legs with knockouts in the front and ending in wooden shoes. The rear legs are saber-shaped and recessed. The armrests of this armchair rest on two consoles which rest on the top of the legs. These armrests join the right backrest, each decorated with a volute outgrowth with an acanthus leaf on the top. The seat, in excellent condition, is traditional with straps and pads.
