Very nice beech armchair with a nice tapestry in gold and white tones in the directoire style - 19th century. The very bright white and gold upholstery makes it an elegant and refined seat. Classic, this armchair can be placed in a living room as well as in a bedroom. Comfortable and sophisticated. Straight armrests in solid wood. While the front feet are perfectly straight and sculpted, the 2 rear feet are curved, in sabre, to give all its style to the seat...the backrest is rolled up, characteristic of the directoire style. Connecting thimble carved between the armrest and the foot. The wood is carved, at the armrests and legs, geometric patterns specific to the directoire style. France nineteenth century the directoire style is a style of furnishing and decoration in vogue from 1795 to 1803. Marking the transition between the louis XVI and empire styles, it is characterized by a sober invoice and simple forms.
