Dimensions: L 194 × D 72 × H 67 cm – seat height: 36 cm. Condition: Very good condition. Some slight signs of wear due to age, particularly on one of the seats where the wool shows signs of wear. Exclusive edition of the "Lotus" sofa, designed by Rob Parry for Gelderland in the 1960s. The sofa features a chrome metal frame combined with Brazilian rosewood. This combination of materials gives it a particularly luxurious appearance. The overall condition is very good, both technically and aesthetically. Rob Parry (1925–2023) is one of the representatives of post-war Dutch industrial design. Trained notably by Gerrit Rietveld, he developed an aesthetic characterised by elegant lines, readable construction, and a constant exploration of materials and functionality from the 1950s onwards. He created numerous pieces of furniture for Gelderland, including the famous Lotus series, now considered an iconic piece of Dutch design from the 1950s-60s. His work is notably preserved in the collections of the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
