1950s 3-Seater “Sluis” sleeping sofa by Martin Visser for ‘t Spectrum, Netherlands

An beautiful 3-seater sofa / sleeping bench designed by martin visser, manufactured by ‘t spectrum in the netherlands around 1950. This unique sofa, model “sluis”, has a high quality black lacquered metal frame in rectangular finish. The seating depth can easily be extended by moving the backrest straight into the frame, as shown in photos. This is an innovative piece and a fantastic find of dutch mid-century design! The additional armrest pillow is a lovely compliment to the design. Both the sofa and pillow are newly upholstered in high quality dark gray kvadrat hallingdal fabric. The piece remains in very good, vintage condition with new upholstery and only minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
