1930s curved wooden office chair. In the absence of a replacement label, a bundle of clues makes it attributable to Thonet. The model is clearly a mix of the B45, which appeared in 1925, and the B50 found in the 1930 catalogues. (Unfortunately, later documentation is lacking or even non-existent). It has the same dimensions, particularly in terms of seat height. The very beautiful wood grain design (which could be chosen from others when ordering the chair) has been recorded from the early 20th century until the end of production at Thonet. Finally, the special stretcher was also available on order and was quite fashionable, especially for the American market, as evidenced by documents from 1935, when almost all office chairs were equipped with it.
