Handmade ceramic lamp base by the Ernst studio, Faxe, Denmark. The studio was run by Ernst Nielsen in the 1970s. The lamp base is beautifully designed with a scaly relief covered in a glossy lava glaze in red, blue, and dark blue, tapering down to a matte black bottom. A beautiful piece of studio art. The lamp is signed on the bottom. The lamp works very well with a milky white LED bulb, but you can also place a lampshade on it. In very good vintage condition.
