A vase from the 1970s made of pressed soda glass in an olive green shade, characteristic of the Ząbkowice Glassworks. The entire surface of the vessel is covered with a geometric pattern that diffuses light, featuring slightly rounded rectangles and oval shapes. This gives the vase visual depth and a tactile three-dimensional texture. The matte surface and moderate transparency are typical of pressed glass from the modernist era and the brutalist inspirations of Eastern Bloc countries. The overall composition is slender and slightly tapered towards the bottom, emphasizing both its utility and decorative potential. The lack of additional colours and decorations, as well as visible mould marks only upon closer inspection, are characteristic of Ząbkowice's mass production in the 1970s. Condition is very good – the surface is free from chips, cracks, or signs of intervention. This vase seems to speak with the voice of late modernism – silent yet specific – telling a story of an aesthetic that did not allow for randomness. The rhythmic pattern and the coolness of the olive glass evoke interiors from a time when simplicity of form was combined with a practical pursuit of repeatability and functionality. Pressed glass forms, thanks to light passing through the frosted patterns, gained new optical depth – as if each vessel told the everyday story of Polish homes without striving for superficial effect. This vase works well as a soloist on a light, raw wooden or concrete surface, where its olive tone contrasts with a neutral background. It can be combined with other pressed glass or ceramics with a similar matte texture to highlight the rhythm and three-dimensional details of the relief. Modernist interiors and those emphasizing industrial rawness will best highlight its origins, but also in eclectic arrangements with soft lighting and delicate textiles, the geometry and coolness of the green glass will provide a refined reference to the aesthetics of the 1970s.
