Rare triptych mirror in bronze – 1900

Superb triptych mirror in bronze, remarkable for its refined decoration and the elegance of its composition. The three mirrors, mounted on hinges, are framed by finely chiselled mounts featuring a continuous vegetal frieze, highlighting the delicacy of this object. When folded, this mirror presents a painted wooden panel depicting a bouquet of flowers, executed in a soft palette, adding a bright pictorial touch to this piece. The whole rests on a bronze base depicting stylised chimeras, with dynamic and sculptural lines, giving the mirror a unique and almost mythological presence. These feet pivot for space-saving during storage. A transport handle crowns the whole and recalls the nomadic purpose of this precious object, once intended to be moved as needed.
