Antique fireplace screen in brass from the 19th century by Bouhon Frères.
Antique fireplace screen in brass, dating from the late 19th century, by the French company "Bouhon Frères." It is stamped "FB" on the back of the screen. Until 1898, Bouhon Frères specialized in fireplaces and accessories made of bronze and brass. Awarded at the 1900 Paris World Exposition by the international jury for their screens and andirons, Thomas and Joseph Bouhon received the gold medal. Their pieces are now rare and highly sought after by collectors! This fireplace screen consists of 4 fully foldable panels. The brass is entirely worked with rows of beads and scrolls. The bars are enhanced with pine cones reminiscent of the neoclassical style. It can be placed in front of the fireplace as quickly as it can be stored! It must have witnessed long evenings by the fire, so now it's your turn to create lovely memories with it! 🙂 It has been intentionally left in its original condition, with numerous signs of use and age that testify to its authenticity: the brass has a very old patina, the mesh is original, so it has many marks, stains, and signs. One corner of the panel at the top of the screen is unsoldered (see last photo), but it is not very noticeable and does not prevent the use of the screen! 👉 Please keep in mind that this is a genuine antique object; it has traces of time and imperfections that make it a unique item with a history! Thank you for carefully looking at the photos, as they are part of the product description! If you would like more, I would be happy to provide them! Total dimensions: 136 cm long / 56 cm high (excluding handles). Total weight without packaging: 2.8 kg. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions; I would be delighted to respond!.
