Table lamp E63 by Umberto Riva

E63 is a table lamp designed by the designer Umberto Riva and produced by the renowned and prestigious brand Tacchini. Matte brushed copper. The model of this lamp was born in 1963, now reissued under the name E63. An alphanumeric abbreviation contains the intellectual complexity of its designer, Umberto Riva: a bit architect, a bit designer, a bit artist, a bit tamer of light, and mostly that. A table lamp designed precisely, with simple lines to contain large surfaces, which seem to give a solid shape to the light itself: steel, almost like an armour to protect the precious source. Famous architect and interior designer, Umberto Riva was born on 16 June 1928. In 2018, the Triennale di Milano awarded him the gold medal for his career. The artist was a student of Carlo Scarpa at the University of Venice and made his approach to the world of architecture in 1960 in Milan. He has been defined by the public as the master of light, for having created some of the most beautiful masterpieces of design for brands such as Fontana Arte, Francesconi, VeArt, Poltronova, Driade.
