French-made Fischel chair, made in Wissembourg (Alsace). Its label is still legible. An aluminum plaque on a rear arch names the store "Paris, 16 Rue Chaudron." This model is found in the 1929 French catalog, but not in the closest Fischel Austria catalogs of 1926 and Fischel France 1932. This means that it was only produced in France for one or two years. This model is built according to Prutscher's design for Thonet No. 738/XI-1920. (See attached 1920 Thonet catalog). This is a custom order, certainly made for a specific layout, requested in a green shade for the backrest, which is the original shade revived using modern methods. This chair is ready for use.
