Re upholstered blue Gispen 1401 armchair by Wim Rietveld, 1950s

This Gispen 1401 armchair is equipped with new interior (Pantera) and again upholstered with a woolen light blue -colored furniture fabric. The chair with bakelite armrests is on a gray metal frame with 4 rubber floor tips. The 1950s armchair is of modest format. At the time, the solid armchair belonged to the “furniture for the simple interior”. The minimalist design by Wim Rietveld appears to be timeless and is still popular today!
