Sun mirror by Irena Jaworska – circa 1960. A rare sun mirror created by Irena Jaworska, a Polish artist active in France during the 1960s-1970s. This small piece is particularly remarkable for its sculptural work in gilded and patinated lead, forming a crown of irregular rays around the central mirror. The rays are punctuated with colorful inlays of talosel and glass, in a subtle harmony of blue, green, yellow, brown, and red. A beautiful piece of French design from the mid-20th century, at the intersection of decorative art, sculpture, and sun mirrors.
