Teak mid-century table and Fanett chairs by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Asko, set of 5.

Vintage seating group designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara from the 1950s. Here in the very unique version in white instead of the black execution. The seating group consists of an extendable table and four Fanett chairs. The contrast, the two-tone feature of the table top and frame, is particularly significant. The frame is made of solid wood elements painted white. The table top can be extended using a simple system. The associated Fanett chairs are a well-known classic of Scandinavian design. The material quality is high. As with all of Tapiovaara's designs, the entire construction is particularly elegant, mainly due to the very finely executed seat and the open backrest. The contrast, the two-tone feature, is especially visible in this execution. The seating group is in very good condition with signs of wear. The white elements were originally a bit darker and have apparently been repainted by the previous owner. The original colour, a darker shade of white, can still be seen.
