PIRKA set by Ilmari Tapiovaara

Set consisting of a table, two chairs, and a stool. Pirka model for Laukaan Puu (solid birch and pine) signed Ilmari Tapiovaara (stamped under the stool). Chair dimensions: H74cm, seat height 41cm, seat width 38cm, back width 26cm. Seat depth 38.5cm. Stool dimensions: H42cm, W43cm, D28cm, seat thickness 4cm. Table dimensions: H70cm, W70cm, L120cm. Tabletop thickness 4cm. These pieces of furniture are made of solid wood and have some marks consistent with use and age. This collection dates back to 1952. This furniture comes from an architect's chalet located in the French Hautes Alpes. Its former owner, a musician for Georges Brassens, among others, had built his own chalet, which he furnished with a pronounced taste for design. This table was already displayed alongside lighting fixtures from the 1970s, in a very successful minimalist Space Age style.
