Cheerio lamp by Bernhard & Susanne Dessecker for Ingo Maurer, Germany, 1988

Cheerio lamp model designed by the Dessecker in 1988 and produced in Germany. This lamp consists of a vertical structure made of fine metal rods resting on a circular base, featuring a suspended paper diffuser in the central part. The whole evokes a graphic and airy construction, where the light seems to float in space. The textile diffuses a soft and subdued light, contrasting with the linear rigor of the metal structure. It is equipped with the TipTronic system allowing touch-activated lighting. The Cheerio illustrates the poetic and experimental approach to lamps produced by Ingo Maurer in the late 1980s, blending lightweight engineering, visual balance, and sculptural dimension. Edition: Ingo Maurer, Germany.
