Set of 3 dining chairs by Rainer Daumiller

This set of three solid pine armchairs was designed by Rainer Daumiller and produced by Hirtshals Savværk (sawmill) in Denmark in the 1970s. The curved back and seat offer considerable comfort in these very sturdy chairs. Daumiller was best known for his creations in Nordic pine, already convinced that locally grown trees would have a smaller environmental footprint than the teak and rosewood used by his contemporaries. These chairs have not been varnished; we simply applied a little linseed oil to enhance the natural grain. The seats show scratches and signs of use, which add to the character of this set, which is in good original condition.
