From the late 1970s, Pierre Paulin developed a series of enveloping forms for Artifort that renewed contemporary seating. The "Pumpkin" model, here in its 3-seater version produced in the 1980s, perfectly illustrates this quest for sculptural comfort, based on organic volumes and continuous lines. Made for Artifort, this sofa combines a flexible structure with a patinated brown leather covering, whose folds and tension highlight Paulin's work on upholstery and the concept of a shell. The leather has a deep, natural hue, consistent with the use and age of the model, and is highly appreciated by collectors. The overall condition is very good. The leather shows a uniform patina, with no tears or sagging, indicating regular maintenance and careful use. The sofa measures 250 cm in length, 70 cm in height, and 80 cm in depth, with generous proportions that make it a central piece in a living room or reception area. Ideal for a 20th-century design collection or a contemporary interior, this "Pumpkin" combines sculptural presence and comfort, true to the spirit of Artifort and Pierre Paulin's vision.
