A very unique vintage design pendant lamp. The lamp is entirely made of plexiglass, which forms the structure over which nylon threads are stretched like a spider web. The rod and ceiling cap are made of chrome. The lamp is called the Spiderweb Swag lamp and was designed by Paul Secon. Paul Secon (July 13, 1916 – February 24, 2007) was an American entrepreneur and songwriter who co-founded Pottery Barn with his brother Morris in 1950. The lamp was designed for Sompex (a German family business founded in 1948, started in Soest (Netherlands) but since 1950 based in Düsseldorf, Germany). This lamp is from 1970 and designed in the space age style, which is clearly reflected in the use of materials and experimental design. In short, a beautiful addition to any vintage home. DIMENSIONS: Lamp height: 38cm, Diameter: 23cm, Cord length (adjustable). CONDITION: Good condition, wiring has been replaced. The ceiling cap is not original, I still have the original but it was yellowed. The current ceiling cap has some rust spots, on request this can also be replaced.
