Rare and exceptional bottle or conical flask from the Mid-Century period, dated 1953. This Italian art ceramic is the work of the famous master ceramist Salvatore Procida, made in Vietri sul Mare. This sought-after collector's piece features a stunning stylised anthropomorphic decoration, hand-painted, depicting an owl with large round eyes. The patterns are executed in shades of cobalt blue and onion ochre on a beige stoneware background with a granular finish, a primitive and raw texture highly characteristic of the artist's post-war modernist production. Originally used as a table bottle, it now stands out as a magnificent decorative sculpture for a vintage or contemporary interior. The item is fully signed and dated under the base: "Procida Vietri 53". Condition: Excellent original vintage condition. No cracks, no chips. A superb display piece. Fast international shipping. The item will be packaged with extreme care in double reinforced shockproof cardboard.
