Mid-Century Ceramic Angel Candleholder by Gerhard Liebenthron, 1970s

Gerhard Liebenthron studio pottery candlestick in the form of an angel. Gerhard Liebenthron was born in 1925 in Neustrelitz. From 1948 to 1951, he studied at the North German art school in Bremen. In 1952, he established his own workshop in Bremen and since 1955 participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. He passed away in Bremen in 2005. This piece dates to the 1970s and features an attribution mark. It is in very good vintage condition, showing no defects but with slight traces of use consistent with its age. Patina is consistent with age and use. The piece measures 13 cm in height and 13.5 cm in diameter.
