Large decorative round plate shaped from a polished block of fossiliferous marble. This curiosity cabinet piece stands out due to the richness of its natural geological inclusions. It reveals stunning longitudinal and transverse cuts of prehistoric marine fossils on its surface, notably Ammonites with complex spirals and Orthoceres with geometric lines. These marine sediments, originating from deposits in southern Morocco (Erfoud region), date back to the Primary era (Devonian period, approximately 400 million years ago). With its raw and graphic lines, this plate fits perfectly into a Mid-Century, Brutalist, or contemporary design interior. It would ideally find its place as a centrepiece, as a sculptural catch-all on a teak sideboard, or displayed as a true work of art on an easel. Harmonious colours in shades of brown, dark brown, beige, and sienna earth veins. Weight 1.6kg.
