Rare Thonet chair model 57 - Post-war production (circa 1945-1955) in Germany, probably from the Frankenberg factory of the brand - The remarkable curves of the seat and its flared base make the design of model 57 unique - Structure in solid beech stained black, seat and backrest in moulded plywood, original metal fittings - THONET 57 stamp impressed (not printed) in the wood under the seat, characteristic of the era - In beautiful original condition with a superb patina - No heavy restoration, no visible repairs. Structure healthy and stable. Dimensions: Width: 41cm/Seat - 35cm/Backrest. Height: 45cm/Seat - 74cm/Backrest. Depth: 49cm. The Thonet 57 chair perfectly illustrates the transition between Thonet's historic bentwood furniture and the modernist moulded plywood creations developed in the mid-20th century.
