Elegant and spectacular large pair of ceremonial horses in crackle-glazed ceramic, richly harnessed with bridles, medallions, and relief saddles. These decorative sculptures of considerable size (33 cm in height) offer a remarkable presence and immediately structure a decor. Their powerful modelling, subtly nuanced patina, and careful finishing testify to quality craftsmanship intended for refined furnishings. Attributed to China, 20th century, these pieces are part of the tradition of high-end export productions made for the Western market in the 1960s-1970s. Their aesthetic evokes the ceremonial horses of the Renaissance and classical historical decor.
