Antique majolica cache-pot with a medallion in Art Nouveau style.

Vintage cache-pot in faience, moulded and glazed barbotine, characteristic of French production from 1890-1910. Flared body on a scalloped pedestal with high-relief decoration in bright colours: pink and turquoise reserves, caramel-brown scrolls, handles with openwork curls, two oval medallions framed in black with green cameo portraits on a cream-white background (one female, one male). Wavy upper edge. Mould number (453), no identifiable mark but in the style of Onnaing. Emblematic of the Belle Époque, between Napoleon III and Art Nouveau. Designed to hold a flower pot or a green plant. Sold as is with visible cracks and micro chips shown in the photos.
