Planter signed Claude Bonnefond (1868-1936) Art Nouveau

Charming antique planter in spelter, richly decorated in an Art Nouveau style with superb curved lines and elegant relief decoration. It is signed C. Bonnefond, which gives it genuine artistic and collectible interest. Claude Bonnefond (1868-1936) was a French sculptor active from the late 19th to the early 20th century. His work is part of the decorative movement of the time, with a sensitivity close to Art Nouveau, favouring elegant forms and ornamental compositions intended for bourgeois interiors. The piece has undergone a restoration of its patina to regain a shade close to its original colour, while respecting the spirit and antique character of the object.
