Group of 7 glass "Sommerso" vases by Strömbergshyttan, Sweden

Beautiful set of seven "Sommerso" vases in purple and clear, designed by Gunnar Nylund and Asta Strömberg in Sweden during the 1950s. Handmade with the underlay glass technique (coloured glass encased in clear glass). Four of the seven are signed (engraved) and/or labelled. Some may have minor scratches or signs of wear, and one vase has some water stains. The lovely streamlined design of these vases will bring joy and purity to a modern interior. They will also match perfectly with Scandinavian pieces from ceramists such as Wilhelm Kåge, Berndt Friberg, Stig Lindberg, and designers such as Hans Bergström, Josef Frank, Paavo Tynell, Alvar Aalto, Hans-Agne Jakobsson, Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, and others.
