Elegant representation of the Immaculate Virgin, in a welcoming and gentle posture, draped in her celestial blue cloak enhanced with golden threads. She rests on the globe, crushing the serpent — a symbol of evil vanquished — surrounded by clouds and stars, in an iconography deeply rooted in the 19th-century Catholic tradition. The face, finely modelled, retains a great delicacy of expression, almost meditative, typical of the domestic devotion productions disseminated in French and Italian workshops. A presence that is both spiritual and decorative, perfect for an interior with old-world charm, eclectic style, or a private chapel. Bright polychromy, some signs of age, a discreet lack on the right index finger, a second on the cloak. GFA mark. 65 cm in height.
