Overview. Large, early Biedermeier dining table, Switzerland circa 1810–1820. Classic restrained lines with a warm brown walnut surface and visible grain. Extendability. Centre extendable design with four inset leaves (each 60 cm / 23.6") added later; expandable in five lengths (129.5, 189, 249, 309 and 369 cm). When fully extended it seats up to 14 people. Original beech pull-out mechanism with recessed grips and brass-hinged leaves for cohesion. Construction. Solid and veneered walnut top and apron, solid walnut legs and two additional central supporting legs. Brass sabots with castor rollers fitted to all six legs for easier movement.
