This cantilever chair derives from a prototype that stam made for his wife around 1926. He used pieces of gray tubular steel, connected together by "l" joints, like those used for gas installations. Stability was guaranteed by a horizontal stiffening bar located between the legs, removed in subsequent reproductions.
