Rare and spectacular pair of wall consoles in patinated wood, representing two eagles with outstretched wings, perched on finely carved leafy masks. High-quality work, with powerful relief and very detailed modelling, typical of the decorative production of the late 19th century, in the historicist and neo-Renaissance style. Each console is mounted on a rectangular plate allowing for a solid wall fixation. The eagles, treated in round-boss, display a dynamic and expressive posture, with remarkable detailing of the feathers, claws, and heads. These consoles were intended to support a shelf, a tabletop, or to serve as monumental decorative elements in a prestigious interior (private hotel, library, smoking room, cabinet of curiosities). Material: patinated wood. Period: late 19th century. Condition: very good overall condition, beautiful old patina, signs of use without damage or restoration. Origin: European work. Dimensions (approximately): Height: 45 cm, Width: 23 cm, Depth: 20 cm. A rare and characterful decorative object, ideal for wall display, a library, or a classic or eclectic interior.
