Pichet Villeroy & Boch Mettlach Ehrang, cream and plum

Glazed ceramic jug signed Villeroy & Boch, Mettlach factory, model Ehrang. Faceted body alternating smooth surfaces and reliefs in scrolls, with a decoration based on a particularly successful duo of shades: an ivory cream background with fine crazing, enhanced by a violet glaze, featuring a clear drip line that visually structures the piece. Typical of decorative productions from the early 20th century. Stamp under the base: Villeroy & Boch – Mettlach – Saar-Basin, used between 1918 and 1935. In beautiful vintage condition, shiny, with signs of use, slight traces of time, a hairline crack accompanied by a chip on the edge inside and a chip on the edge outside (see photos). Height 20 cm, width at spout handle 16 cm, diameter at widest point 12 cm, capacity approximately 1.5 L. A contrast between cream and violet for a strong presence.
