Oil on canvas depicting a Haitian landscape, featuring several characters on a path, and a horse. Signed bottom right Romme Joseph (to be specified). The emergence of naïve art in Haiti in the mid-20th century can be explained by several factors: historical, sociological, and anthropological, but also by an aesthetic value of the works that gave the painters of this movement a new sense of identity. Period: 20th century. Dimensions: 30x40 cm. Good condition.
