An old and immense double-sided painting from the 1950s. Originally a theatre backdrop, it consists of a wooden support on which rests a large thick canvas on each side. Each canvas features a large landscape painting. One side depicts a mountain landscape, with a large body of water (lake or sea) in the background, while the other side showcases a countryside scene with a small village leading out to the sea in the distance. The tones are quite bright, and the contrasts are very interesting. The thick, grainy primed fabric adds a unique texture to the oil painting. The giant format makes this object a very beautiful decorative piece, both due to its size and the immersive quality of the scenes. The canvas is damaged in places, with tears and wear, and the mountain landscape has a spot where the fabric has slightly worn away. The wooden support on which the canvas rests has been intentionally preserved to maintain its authenticity, but it might be interesting to consider cutting it down and planning for a very beautiful and large frame to enhance the overall piece, which stands at 210 cm tall. Please refer to the numerous photos for the general condition of the entire piece. - Total dimensions - W 190 X H 260 X D 3 cm. Dimensions of the canvas alone - 210 cm.
