Lucien Félix Henry (1850-1896) was a French painter associated with the Barbizon School. He arrived in Paris in 1867 to study under Viollet-le-Duc and later at the École des Beaux-Arts. To earn a living, he modeled for the renowned painter Jean-Léon Gérôme. He painted extensively during this period, specializing in landscapes. A socialist activist, he was an active member of the Paris Commune. In 1872, at the age of 22, he was imprisoned and sentenced to death. He was ultimately deported to New Caledonia for seven years. He then settled in Australia as a fine arts professor, painter, and sculptor, where he gained some renown before returning to France in 1891. In good condition.
