Superb carved oak buffet – Neo-Renaissance style – Exceptional decor
With its wood in blonde and brown tones, generous sculptures, and architectural lines, this sideboard will naturally find its place in an eclectic interior combining antique furniture and contemporary decoration, in a country house or a château. It can be used as a storage unit in a dining room, a living room, or a large entrance hall. Its volume also allows it to serve as a centrepiece in an interior seeking authenticity. With its rich sculpted decor, relief panels, and warm patina, this piece is inspired by the neo-Renaissance style, which brings back the ornaments and decorative motifs of the Renaissance. Its silhouette, highlighted by wide cornices and a slightly recessed upper body, gives it a remarkable presence. The two-part construction also facilitates its transport. The façade is distinguished by a beautiful composition of six sculpted panels, arranged over two levels. Fantastic figures in relief, evoking heraldic animals or mythological creatures, adorn the upper side panels. Their sinuous lines and sculpted details add movement to the whole. Ornamental vase motifs, framed by scrolls and foliage, occupy the central panels. These symmetrical compositions recall the decorative vocabulary of the Renaissance. Bust figures, framed by plant motifs and sculpted ribbons, decorate the lower side panels. They bring a figurative and almost historical dimension to the façade. Decorative metal fittings in a patinated finish complete the ensemble and emphasise its traditional character. The mouldings framing the panels harmoniously structure the façade and highlight the contrast between the different shades of wood. Width 1.75m. Height 1.90m. Very good condition. Very attractive price, non-negotiable. Collection on site (ground floor with parking in front of the apartment).
