Large rare Delft Groen hand-painted plate Velsen pottery Netherlands

An exceptional and rare piece, this large fine earthenware plate was entirely hand-painted in the workshops of the Velsen pottery (Sassenheim, Netherlands), active from 1942 to 2002. Its bird motif among blooming flowers, in shades of emerald green, ivory white and gold, is a rare and refined interpretation of the Delft Groen (Delft green) style – a precious alternative to the famous Delft blue. This fine earthenware plate is a creation of the Velsen pottery, in Sassenheim, active between 1942 and 2002, which produced refined pieces in the Delft spirit while exploring less classic palettes. Stamped on the back: VLS 1016 – Delft Groen – Hand Painted – Made in Holland Diameter: 28.5 cm Very good condition, intact gilding, smooth and shiny glaze, deep color. Can be hung (see photos).
