Le Corbusier – LC4 Chaise Longue by Cassina in black leather and chrome steel
◼ THE STORY & DESIGN Conceived in 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, and Charlotte Perriand as a "rest machine", the LC4 adjusts without any mechanism: the chrome cradle slides on the base to transition from a reading position to a reclining position. This piece is an official Cassina edition, engraved and numbered. ◼ TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS Cradle made of chrome-plated steel tube, base in black lacquered steel, mattress and bolster in black leather, headrest strap with buckle. Engraving No. 68799 and Le Corbusier® signature on the tube; strap attachments stamped Cassina. Dimensions (Cassina measurements): L 160 × D 56.4 × H 69 cm in relaxation position. ◼ CONDITION REPORT (Transparency Gallery) Leather in excellent condition, supple and clean, without tears, cuts, or cracks; natural comfort creases. Chrome in very good condition, shiny, without pitting, with fine signs of use. Slight wear on the edge of the headrest strap. Base in good condition, with pads present. Light signs of use, no major degradation. It finds its place facing a window, in a library, or at the heart of a contemporary living room, where black leather and chrome interact with wood as well as concrete. ◼ LOGISTICS & SHIPPING — tailored delivery Piece carefully protected and delivered by a specialised carrier.
