Created in 1970 by Gianfranco Frattini and Livio Castiglioni for Artemide, the Boalum is a cult lamp of Italian design. Its flexible translucent resin tube encloses a chain of bulbs diffusing a soft, continuous light. A true light sculpture, it can be placed, hung, coiled, or modulated at will, and can be connected with other segments to form spectacular compositions. This freedom of use makes it an object that is as decorative as it is functional. DIMENSIONS: L: 2 meters. D: 8 cm. A rare and timeless icon, the Boalum is featured in the permanent collections of international museums such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Its unique aesthetic, both poetic and playful, makes it a sought-after piece that instantly transforms a space.
