Sarreguemines Digoin vase, flamed ceramic

Here is a very beautiful ceramic vase with elegant lines, lovely proportions, and attractive, soothing colours that evoke autumn and nature. A bit of fir green, mustard yellow or caramel, enhanced by a frothy white, against a chocolate background. I was quite surprised to discover the Sarreguemines Digoin stamp underneath, as the flamed ceramic reminds me more of Vallauris, and generally, I encounter more tableware from that manufacturer. The stamp also indicates that it is part of the Hawai collection and that it was hand-painted, so even though it was produced in multiple copies, its decoration will vary from vase to vase. It probably dates from the 1960s or 70s, when many manufacturers were inspired by what made Vallauris famous. In any case, the gamble has paid off, as this vase is truly interesting both in its colours and its shape. It is in perfect condition, neither cracked nor chipped. It measures 20 cm in maximum height, 14 cm in width, and 11 cm in depth.
