Very elegant zoomorphic jug in the shape of a rooster, work by Roger Capron (1922-2006), made in Vallauris around 1955. This emblematic piece of the post-war Vallauris ceramic revival stands out for the quality of its modelling and the balance of its proportions. The subtly nuanced white glazing reveals a bluish background, giving the whole piece depth and luminosity. The base is delicately adorned with stylised foliage in blue tones, a characteristic decoration of Capron's production in the 1950s. A beautiful example combining decorative strength and finesse of execution, representative of the master potter's work during this period. Condition: perfect state of preservation, without chips, cracks or restoration. Period: around 1955. Origin: Vallauris, France.
