Silver-plated hand candlestick, Louis XVI style, France circa 1880-1910

Beautiful hand-held candlestick in silver-plated metal in the Louis XVI style, France, late 19th to early 20th century, circa 1880-1910. Fluted shaft, base decorated with acanthus leaves, in a neoclassical taste. The cup rests on three small ball feet, with an elegant little finger handle. Square "M" hallmark stamped in the cup. 12.5 cm in diameter, 8 cm in height, opening 2 cm in diameter. Overall good condition with signs of use, fine surface scratches due to cleaning, and one more pronounced scratch inside the cup, nonetheless discreet. Approximately 140 g.
