Vintage Costa Italy white ceramic candle holder - 1950s

Vintage candlestick from Italy by the Costa manufacture, mid-20th century. Item in excellent condition, terracotta base covered with a glossy white glaze. Costa pieces were shaped and glazed by hand. This candlestick is emblematic of the Neo-Renaissance or Italian Baroque style with the purity of the 50s-60s. The use of a dove, a symbol of peace and purity, was a very popular motif for decorative objects of this period.
