Italian secretary commode from the first half of the 20th century (circa 1920s), crafted in the opulent Italian Late Baroque style. This exquisite piece is characterized by finest walnut and walnut burl veneers, as well as delicate light maple marquetry shaded with fine pokerwork detailing. It combines the practical storage of a chest of drawers with the functionality of a secretary desk. Premium walnut veneer, adorned with elaborate rocaille and strapwork inlays. Gently curved body (bombé shape) resting on solid, turned ball feet. The artfully cast brass handles and escutcheons enhance its historic character. Thrifted pieces are smart repaired.
