Vintage wooden wall knick knack shelf / shadow box / Gianfranco Frattini

Vintage wall-hanging curio display from the mid-century modern era. This wooden knick knack shelf was made in Yugoslavia in the 1970s or 1980s from solid wood. The wall shelf was produced by the famous furniture factory Meblo and was part of a collection designed by Gianfranco Frattini for Cassina. It was hung on a living room wall in a modern family house and used to store small souvenirs and figurines from travels. The collectible storage shelf has 16 compartments, each measuring 10.5 cm X 10.5 cm. Overall dimensions: 48 cm X 48 cm, depth 6.5 cm. The display is finished in a warm dark brown colour and is in very good vintage condition. It has been carefully cleaned, retouched in a few places, and coated with natural oil. This is a rare mid-century modern piece of wall furniture. The product does not have a label about the designer, but it is known to be part of the aforementioned collection.
