Orange Manade lamp by Jean René Talopp for Samp 70's

This lamp from the Manade collection, designed by Jean-René Talopp for the French publisher SAMP, perfectly illustrates the creative momentum and boldness of 1970s design. Talopp has created an object that straddles the line between sculpture and lighting, where modernist rigor meets the pop energy of seventies design, with an almost architectural approach. The lamp is organised around a principle of balance and visual tension, between horizontality and verticality, volume and line, colour and structure. The orange lacquered reflector, punctuated by black ends that enhance the graphic reading of the object, appears to be suspended, as if in balance. It rests on a simple and precise base, composed of a chrome rod and an orthogonal black base, creating a silhouette that is both stable and visually light. It is height-adjustable, and the reflector can be oriented 360°. The switch is integrated into the reflector. The base is weighted for good stability. A few details about the French publisher SAMP. They produced lighting fixtures in relatively modest quantities, often intended for modern furnishings and specialised shops. Unlike large industrial publishers, their productions were not massive. We are therefore very pleased to have found this beautiful orange model, especially in excellent condition with only minimal signs of use. Earth plug connection. Height: 52 cm.
