Rare pair of Art Deco bookends made of Portor marble and onyx, featuring a refined contrast of veined black and ivory tones. A geometric composition in the Art Deco style, the quality of the materials evokes high-end French or Italian productions from the 1930s to 1950s. For lovers of clean lines and silent movements. Description: • Black veined Portor marble. • Ivory and white onyx. • Height: 11.5 cm. • Base: 12 x 8 cm. • 1034 g and 1030 g. • Total weight (the pair): 2064 g. In generally good vintage condition. • One of the bookends is in very good condition. • The second has one or two small chips on the marble base, as well as an old repair (marble reattached to the base) visible by a fine trace of glue – see photos. The overall piece remains solid, stable, and very aesthetic. The bases are protected by new felt to preserve the surfaces. Pair sold only as a lot, not separable.
