Antique brass hand candlestick – Columned fluted cellar rat

Elegant antique hand candlestick in brass, also known as a rat de cave, featuring a lovely classical-inspired decoration. It is distinguished by its fluted central shaft, delicate beaded borders, and moulded cylindrical bobeche. Its wide circular dish collects wax drips, while its small loop handle makes it easy to handle. The brass has an aged patina with contrasting tones, combining golden hues with darker signs of oxidation, particularly visible on the dish. These marks of time give it an authentic charm. A beautiful antique item, ideal for complementing a classic decor, a country house atmosphere, or a collection of antique candlesticks. It will easily find its place on a mantelpiece, console, or wooden table. Antique condition with signs of use, oxidation stains, and marked patina on the brass. See photographs.
