An expressive Scandinavian lounge chair, designed by Norwegian designer Olav Eldøy. This original Peel Club is preserved in exceptional, near-mint condition, with its original bright red Kvadrat Hallingdal wool upholstery. Design: Olav Eldøy for Varier (formerly Stokke), introduced in 2008. Upholstery: Original Kvadrat Hallingdal 690 wool in vibrant red. Condition: Exceptional original condition, with virtually no signs of use. Design & History The Peel Club is the compact successor to the original Peel chair, introduced by Stokke in 2002. Inspired by the shape of a peeled orange, Eldøy created an unconventional seating shell that wraps around the body in one continuous, sculptural form. Following the separation of Stokke's furniture and children's product divisions in 2006, the adult seating collection continued under the name Varier. The Peel Club was introduced in 2008 as a more compact, versatile interpretation of the original design. Its distinctive curved silhouette combines playful Scandinavian design with an ergonomic approach to seating. The polished metal swivel base gives the upholstered shell a light, almost floating appearance. Upholstery & Condition This example retains its original Kvadrat Hallingdal 690 upholstery, a durable wool textile designed by Nanna Ditzel. The chair is in exceptional original condition. The upholstery remains beautifully taut, with clean seams and virtually no visible wear. An unusually well-preserved example of an expressive piece of contemporary Norwegian furniture design.
