Very beautiful and large oil on canvas signed by the painter Louis Munsbach and dated 1921. The painting is signed and dated at the bottom right. Depicting the hour of salvation at sunset, it shows elderly people, children, and nuns heading towards the church, which is already lit to welcome the faithful. In the opposite direction, a worker is seen pushing his wheelbarrow filled and followed by his dog (which is also pulling the wheelbarrow). A realistic painting with a social connotation. Period gilded wooden frame - circa 1920. Keyed stretcher. On the back, there are 4 labels: 1) The title of the painting: "The Hour of Salvation" 2) The artist's details: "Munsbach Louis 44 Rue Albert de Latour Schaerbeek - Brussels" 3) The framer's label based in Brussels. 4) Numbering: "155" There is an inscription "n°37" on the back of the canvas, likely the inventory number. Dimensions (with frame): Length: 93 cm. Height: 73 cm. Depth: 5 cm. Dimensions (without frame): Length: 80 cm. Height: 60 cm. Overall good condition, with a slight tear and an old restoration (see photos). Delivery possible to Eghezée, Perwez, Namur, and Andenne.
